Isle of Skye Mussel Company - Scotland

There is growing consumer demand in the UK for high quality rope-grown mussels. Producers have been enjoying a steady price of around £1,000 per tonne for the last three years.

The Isle of Skye Mussel Company is seeking investors to participate in the development of its mussel cultivation business on the west coast of Scotland.

The company has secured the lease of seabed in three areas off the west coast of Skye:

Site 1 - Cruadhlinn, Loch Slapin (pictured)
6 double lines @ 200m
Target yield 120 tonnes per annum
First harvest began in 2005 with a yield of 31 tonnes
Estimated yield for 2006 is 100 tonnes

Site 2 - Fernilea, Loch Harport
8 double lines @ 200m
Target yield 160 tonnes per annum
Site not yet developed

Site 3 - Beinn na Moine, Loch Bracadale
8 double lines @ 300m each
Target yield 240 tonnes per annum
Site not yet developed

Additional sites in the area have been identified as suitable for further expansion of the business.

An independent technical report into the development of sites 2 and 3 has been produced which supports the projected yield values.

Financial projections for the first five years of the development have been prepared including a detailed cash flow analysis.

A majority shareholding and directorship are being offered to an investor who can provide development capital of £500k+ along with relevant commercial expertise.
